off center from the bearing housing. In these cases, the bearing should be made concentric to the turbine
bearing and secured with dowels to prevent lateral movement. If the bearing is a tight fit and the bearing
concentricity with the turbine bearing is out of tolerance, the bridge will have to be moved. Moving the
bridge without the thrust bearing can be difficult, but, if it must be moved, moving it should not affect the
rest of the alignment. If the bridge with the thrust bearing must be moved, the plumb of the unit can be
changed, depending on the amount of movement required. If the thrust bearing bridge is moved, the
bearings should be removed and the plumb rechecked.
